TAEYONG (SM Entertainment) of NCT makes his solo debut with the release of his first mini-album, 'SHALALA.'
TAEYONG's first mini-album, 'SHALALA,' which will be released on June 5th, consists of seven songs, also including ‘SHALALA,’ the lead single, to which TAEYONG contributed in writing music and the lyrics to.
The album being his first solo, TAEYONG's actively engaged in the planning as well as the overall production, which his music fans worldwide are truly excited for.
TAEYONG has shown himself to be an 'all-rounder artist,' demonstrating superb rapping, charming vocals, and unmatched performance while as a member of NCT, a world reknown boy group. Naturally, there is an increasing expectation for TAEYONG as a solo artist.
TAEYONG has also demonstrated his musical talents by contributing in writing and composing several NCT songs, including 'Sticker,' 'Cherry Bomb,' and 'The 7th Sense'; 'Moonlight,' a solo piece he presented during the NCT 127 World Tour; 'Long Flight,' the first solo song he released on SM 'STATION'; 'Love Theory,' a collaboration with Wonstein; all eyes and ears on the musicality of this album.

'SHALALA,' the lead single, is a hip-hop piece with remarkable rhythmical percussion and strong drums. TAEYONG's witty rap flow, addictive chorus, and a unrestrained rhythmic bridge section which come together to make the listening more pleasurable.
Furthermore, with the idea and concept of Shalala-ness of all things in mind, TAEYONG's conveys the confident message in his lyrics that 'we can all shine wherever,' recalling the days which he felt inspired while on tours and global promotions.
'GWANDO' is a pop/rock song that portrays numerous emotions of goodbye’s in a pleasant and bright sound while calmly putting it out there that everything will be alright. 'Move Mood Mode' is a medium-tempo pop song about new sentiments for a lover. TAEYONG's cute rapping and Red Velvet WENDY's lovely vocals blend to produce a thrilling experience.
Furthermore, the intense and futuristic hip-hop genre song 'Virtual Insanity' begins with the concept of experiencing TAEYONG's performance in VR. 'RUBY,' a medium-tempo pop genre song about TAEYONG's past longing for his dog Ruby, adds to the emotion with TAEYONG's heartfelt vocals in the chorus.
The most minor emotional song on this album is '404 File Not Found,' a medium pop song that offers a message of comfort that he wished for himself during a difficult time in the past.
